about

The Clothespeg Project launched in Perth W. Australia in 2007, the concept is based around these simple instructions...submit any style of work, about any theme you like, with whatever content you want - there is no limitation other than size. Previous volumes have included work from graphic designers, illustrators, photographers, tattoo artists, textile artists, painters, street artists and sculptors. The open submission format welcomes submissions from anyone. Currently in its third volume the project will be touring to Sydney and Perth.

the clothespeg project award

As part of The Clothespeg Project an award is offered, sponsored by our lovely host galleries, for one artist who is declared the 'best in show' to receive a free solo exhibition in the space. Past winners have gone on to produce some pretty amazing work for their solo outings...

Sean Morris volume 1, Behind The Monkey, Perth
Sean is a Perth Illustrator who had been exhibiting work for just over two years. He has had drawings featured in numerous national and international design publications and magazines, including Semi Permanent, Frankie and Wooden Toy Magazine.

Kate Anna Williams volume 2, Lala Orange, Perth
Kate-Anna's work has been shown about Perth in places like Keith and Lottie, Breadbox, Behind the Monkey and La La Orange. It has also been published nationally in Frankie magazine, and most recently in Love is my Velocity publications, First Page and Cookbook II.

Volume 3 included multiple venues and multiple awards. Congratulations to Kristy Milliken, Dan Marshall & Rozanna Johnson. These talented art folk will be presenting their solo shows in 2010, images to follow soon.
